Hi Sally,I have been receiving updates from my sister, and it sounds like you're handling your situation very well. Cancer has affected my life a great deal as well, so I can relate to some of your experiences. So glad you have a supportive family surrounding you. I pray for your family on a regular basis, and I work for a christian organization where we have worship every other week here, and we always include you in our prayers. Isn't that wonderful, people you don't even know are lifting you up in prayer. Keep the Faith, and know tht God has a plan for you, and even though we sometimes don't like that plan, it's his plan, and he wants us, or people around us to learn something from our experiences. You have touched many, many lives. That in itself has to be very rewarding.Take care.::Shelly Davis

Sally, It was so nice to see you yesterday and I just wanted to tell you how inspiring you are. On our way back home I was telling my parents how amazing and strong I thought you were. To know what you have to go through on a day to day basis and yet to see you be so positive made me realize what a beautiful person you are. I really don't know how to put it but something about you really puts a smile on my face and I just want you to know the impact that you had on me and thank you for being so inspiring and strong. You are an incredible women.

Sally,::The radiation seeds is the procedure I had for prostate cancer in 2001. It has brought my psa count down to 0.1. The process was call Brachey Therapy and it works on 1/2 lives. After a short period of time it loses its effectiveness, but a miniscule amount will always be there. I have been very happy with my choice of procedure.::Good luck and God Bless

Hey cousin! I was in Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris last week and lit a candle for you. I took a picture of it burning there, and I will email it to you. Concerned that the candle wouldn't be properly tended to, I purchased it and brought it home (they said I could). Not being very religious myself, I wasn't sure if I was jinxing it by blowing it out and taking it home, but they said it was okay. Anyway, I told my group your story and how amazing you are. You were thought of and prayed for, and admired.....in that very beautiful and spiritual place. Love, Laura

Hi Sally, It's always good to read your updates. You have such a good attitude and you are proof of God's healing. I want to give you another proof of God's healing and faithfulness. It's been over 15 months since Gene was diagnosed with non-Hodgkins lymphoma. He's gone thru radiation. The doctor's are astounded. We've been told that 6 months after radiation, the measure of healing you have at that time is what you'll have to live with. Well, Gene is still healing. He's getting more feeling in his throat and he's getting stronger all the time. God is so good! Lord willing, on July 18 we'll have his stomach tube removed. He's taking everything by mouth now. He hasn't aspirated in over 5 weeks. His Speech Therapist was amazed at how he's doing. He swallows 'wrong' everytime but is able to compensate and no matter how hard she tried, she couldn't get him to aspirate. She told him that he should be the poster child of swallow. ::So, my message to you is, the doctor's do not know everything. God is in control and He is the only one that can number your days. Keep up the fight. Keep your eyes on Him and keep smiling. ::It's not an easy road but nothing worthwhile is easy.::You're a blessing!

Jun 25, 2008 at 13:34:17 David Daniel

I notice my poem "In His Sight" not signed, but I have another for you

A Good Book

To read a book is magical

Just me and my imagination

From the humdrum of days, it transports me

To sun sand and a special vacation

Every thing around me fades

Gray skies and storm weather

I see me lying on a beach

Or floating on water like a feather

Humdrum days no more for me

I solve a complicated mystery

Or reading of days long gone by

And catching up on history

Reading a book is like traveling

To places far away

Exotic sights and foreign ports

Something exciting every day

When things are making you gloomy

Find a book that makes you laugh

When you find you need relaxing

Take your book into the bath

Make every day an adventure

When you open a brand new book

You'll discover something wonderful

If you just take time to look

Joy Johnson

Beautiful insightful poem Sally. Sorry you are going through such a rough patch. My friend Ethel is returning tomorrow from a trip to MD Anderson where they found she has more tumors in her lung and fluid. They will changing her medication in hopes it will help like it did the last time. She is like you Sally...she has had breast cancer and Inflammatory breast cancer for 12 years and she is like the Energizer Bunny...she just gets up and goes. I wish you healing and pray for you through our prayer chain where we see miracles happen. Can't wait for Spring so we can get out and play golf again and maybe have your Mom sub with me. Hugs JOY

You are in your EARLY 40'S. Mid is 44-46. Sally you are a real trooper (as my grandfather would have said). And I am not suprised. You are diligent in your battle and in your faith and I truly admire you.

Sal, I often think about you and check your website for updates and you amaze me how you can inspire so many during the most trying times of your life. I ran across some pictures of the Cast of Nasties a couple of weeks ago and just sat there thinking about all those softball games and nights at the "Mut" - those were the best. Then just the other day Gabby found my 21st b-day video, which I quickly snatched from her hands; it makes me smile just to know that was the night that brought you Andy together. After all that reminiscing I just had to send you a quick message just to say I love you and stay strong!

Hi Sally, I'm a friend of Beth Nickerson, and have been praying for you. I have a verse that I've appreciated for years, and thought you might enjoy it. zeph. 3:17 The LORD your God is with you, :: he is mighty to save. :: He will take great delight in you, :: he will quiet you with his love, :: he will rejoice over you with singing." Please remember that these things are true of you, and that when he sees you placing his trust in you, he rejoices over you with singing - what a cool picture! God Bless, Al::

I will continue to hold you up in my prayers. It is the most powerful thing we have. My wife Marge just finished another round of chemo a couple of months ago. She is just getting her strength back from that again.

Hi Sally, haven't read your page in awhile. Our prayer group still keeps you in their prayers as you are on your journey to good health. I had a pacemaker, defibrillator and two other leads installed in my heart in November. I am recovering and will be ready to play golf in the spring. Hope to play with your mom as she subs for Cecile. Life is a journey and there is never a day that doesn't have a wonder in it if we only look. Glad to see my poem on your web site. I often read it when I don't see all the good and then I remember everything is awesome "In His Sight"....best wishes and love Joy

Hi Sally,::

Your new website design is both beautiful and inspirational. Love it!!!!!!!!!!::

Great job by both you and your web designer in content and design.::

Wishing you a safe and "positive news" trip to Mayo.::

Looking forward to getting together with you when you get back home from Mayo. Let me know if the weekend we discussed works for you. If not we will edit the dates to make it work for all of us. ::

I know how much you like positive quotes .... this comes from a "healing garden" DVD that I enjoy ..... called The Art of Energy. Thought you might enjoy the following sentiments also.::::

......tap into the energy that flows all around you. Let it move you. Fuel you. Beckon you forever forward. Channel a source of power that is yours to behold. Be driven by the vibrancy that resides within your spirit. Rise to every challenge. Rise past new limits. Driven by the force that lives within you.::::

Sally, you are a strong, wonderful and positive influence on my life and a very dear friend. Love you!::::

Charlene::
