Sally, Just a quick note to let you know that you are in my thoughts and prayers. It is good to know you are feeling well. If there is anyway I can be of some sort of help to you besides prayer please let me know. I have included one of my favorite passages of the Bible. I thought maybe you would enjoy it also. Philippians 4: 6&7 6) Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. 7) And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Hi Sally, You, Andy and Shannon are in my prayers everyday. A favorite quote of mine from Maya Angelou: "I can be changed by what happens to me. But I refuse to be reduced by it." Take care - will talk to you soon. Marti

Sally, I am praying for you. Thank you for your witness, and testimony of God's awesome power and grace. Were it not for the hope we have in Him, all would be for nothing. He is accomplishing something very special through you right now. It's how He does things... Never give up hope, but continue to give everything over to God. He loves you dearly, perfectly. So do we. Fight hard. Tom Stehouwer

God's ways are higher than our ways...His thoughts than ours. I had no sooner finished sending you my last message when I ran into one of our pastors while waiting to catch a flight in the airport. His name is Jim Carlson, and his wife Karen has cancer. In fact, while I was talking to Jim, Karen came walking up. I shared with them your story. You see, Sal, Karen has had cancer for 18 years - lung, thyroid, and in most recent times brain cancer. We spent a lot of time praying for her several weeks ago when she went to Mayo for surgery on the cancer in her brain. It did not look good for her at that time. Today she is cancer free. Or is she? It's been an 18 year battle, so maybe she isn't. What's important is that God has given her victory over one battle, then another for 18 years. Sal, she had wonderful things to say about the team of cancer doctors at Mayo, and was delighted to hear that you were able to go there. 'Just want to encourage you. Here's another saint that is waging the battle... and winning because of prayer and God's grace. To God be the glory, great things he has done; and great things He will do. Tom Stehouwer

Sally, You are in my prayers daily. My Pastor prayed for you last night. You are on our prayer list at church. May God's peace flow over you and through you during this time. Psalms 23 is always comforting. Another favorite verse of mine is Jeremiah 29:11 I know the plans I have for you, to prosper you not to harm you. Remember that God always keeps his promises. One of the oldest promises is still visible today "the rainbow". He is marvelous. Sandi Barnhart

Sally, Years ago a friend of mine was told he had a short time to live. I asked him how he could handle that thought day to day. He gave me a card and that card has kept me get through a lot of tough times and I hope it helps you. Jo Ann and I send our best and will pray for you each day. PEACE Do not look forward to what might happen tomorrow; the same Everlasting Father who cares for you today will take care of you tomorrow and everyday. Either he will shield you from suffering or He will give you unfailing strength to bear it. Be at Peace then and put aside all anxious thoughts and imaginations. The card he gave me is very worn but I made copies and I'm sending you one in the mail. Tell Andy we will be thinking and praying for both of you. Love, Murry and Jo Ann Key

Sally, you never walk alone as God will never leave you nor forsake you. May He continue to give you strength and the feeling of his presence. A short story - A boy was riding on a train alone. The stranger sitting across from him asked him if he was traveling alone. The boy said yes, that it was his first time to travel. The stranger asked him if he was scared. The little boy said know sir, you see my father is waiting for me on the other end. As I said we never are alone and as you can see you are mentioned not only in my prayers but in the prayers of many. We are all In His Grip. Gods peace. Roger Coles

Dear Sally, You are a wonderful example with your awesome Faith and gratitude! This website is a great way to see how many people are praying for you! Continue to trust God, and He will bring you strength. Remember to keep your humor, (as I learned from my husband), it will help you get through the difficult times! We pray for your physician's wisdom in making choices for your treatment plan, for your continued courage in this challenge, and ultimately for total healing. Take time every day to cherish the moments and many precious gifts that Christ provides us with, ...and remember that cancer can never take these away from you! Stay Hopeful, and Believe that miracles DO happen! We wish many daily blessings to you & your family. With God's Love, Chris & Don Lemons

Dear Sally, Thank you for making it possible for all of us who love you and pray for you to be with you in this way. As you know I was diagnosed with anal cancer six years ago and the statistics were grim, I wnt to Sloan Kettering for a second opinion and it was worthwhile. The doctors at Stanford included me in decision making and I did all I could to be healthy to fight the invader. It worked. The Lord still had work for me to do and I believe he has such a plan for you. I concentrated all my energy on fighting and quit everything else. I posted notes, emails, cards all around the house and knew I was not alone. You are not alone. Much love, Marilyn

Sally, I have tried several times to leave an inspiring message, but it is hard to express anything that has not already been said, and by people who express it in a more eloquent way. Please be assured you are in my thoughts daily. You are one of the most positive people I have known and that are what it takes to beat cancer. So continue to be the person you are and there isn't a doubt in my mind that you, your doctors, and all of the positive thoughts you have received will have positive results. George Bradshaw

Hi Sally, It's been awhile since I've seen you, but Linda keeps me posted with each phone call we have. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Every night when I pray I ask God to place His healing hand upon you. I don't know how unbelievers handle situations such as yours. There is so much strength to be obtained in knowing that God is looking out for us and has a purpose in everything that comes our way. Keep positive in your faith, Sally, as I know you will. I feel so lucky to have met a family as loving and caring as yours. Your parents are terrific. You can still see the love between them after all of these years. I believe that love and commitment has been passed on to you girls. Linda has been a great friend to me since I met her at the condo in Farmington Hills over 16 years ago. It's hard to believe that much time has passed by already. She included me in some of your family functions, and I realized what a wonderful family she had in all of you. Maybe that will explain why I am writing this to you. You are important to me because of Linda and your parents, who have a very dear place in my heart. There is a pastor on tv on Sunday morning called Joel Osteen out of Houston. He delivers positive upbeat services, and I have gained a lot by listening to him. He also has a book titled "Your Best Life Now". It is very positive and helped me through my time when I was let go from my job at Somanetics. One of the things he shared is how his mother was diagnosed with terminal cancer and the doctors said there was no hope. She should have died, but she beat it. God can do anything, we just have to put ourselves into His hands. I will continue to keep you in my prayers, Sally. Love, Cherie Foster

You and Andy have truly been an inspiration to our family as my Husband is going through Cancer himself. I too, have heard quotes in the past, although didn't realize how some of them would be to us in life today. One of my favorites is "Just for Today", "One Day At A Time", "Faith- Fantastic Adventure in Trusting Him", "Hope-Hearing Other Peoples Experiences", and one of my favorite poems that if you haven't heard it is, " Don't Quit." You and your family is in our thoughts and prayers. It has been a pleasure getting to know you through my Mom and Dad (Ken and Charlene). Thank you for helping us, by sharing yor strength and hope. Hi Sally, this is Lori Engelbrecht, Leigh's wife. I wish you good comfort during your time at Mayo. I was there for about 2 weeks exactly three years ago. It was quite an experience. I was there for diagnostics, then they sent me all over the campus to different specialists. It was quite a place. I don't know if you'll have a laptop with you while you're there, but if you have any questions about Mayo or Rochester, I would be happy to answer them if I can. They have a computer center that you can use free of charge (well, at least it was free three years ago). There's not much in Rochester other than Mayo and its related buildings, but there is a mall with the usual stores, and there's a Baker's Square. It's just a coffee shop type of restaurant but they make the BEST PIE. All of them are excellent but the chocolate silk was my favorite. My mom was with me and I think we ate dinner there every night. My email address is erleichda1@yahoo.com. You are in our thoughts and prayers, Sally. Lori Engelbrecht

Sally: Although Stan and I were very concerned to learn of your recent illness, we also know that all things are possible through God! My very best friend from childhood (we've known each other since 7th grade) was diagnosed in 2005 with very advanced-staged ovarian cancer. One of the many experiences she shared with me during her journey was the defeated looks she would receive from the nursing and medical staff during her regular doctor's visits. I am here to say that she has made a full recovery and her health has been restored. God is a miracle worker! Your journey has and will be such an inspiration to others - I am just grateful to have had the chance to know you.
